Dan’s Pet Care is hiring full‑time and part‑time W‑2 Pet Care Specialists to walk neighborhood dogs and do drop‑in visits on daytime routes across the North Shore of Nassau County and nearby areas. In this role, you’ll spend your shifts visiting pets in their homes, taking dogs for walks, giving food/water/meds as instructed, and sending quick photo updates to their humans. You’ll be backed by our 24/7 staffed, cage‑free facility in Glen Cove , so you’re never on your own if something comes up. What You’ll Do Visit clients’ homes for scheduled dog walks and pet sitting visits Walk dogs of all sizes safely on leash in local neighborhoods Follow detailed care instructions for each pet (feeding, meds, routines) Drive between appointments within our service area Use our app/smartphone to check in/out and send visit notes and photos Monitor pets for any signs of stress or illness and report concerns promptly Build long‑term, trusting relationships with pet parents What You Get W‑2 employment, not a gig app Paid training before your first solo shift PTO and paid sick time (for eligible team members) 401(k) plan (for eligible team members) Gas stipend and paid travel time between appointments Consistent routes and support from a 24/7 staffed team in Glen Cove and Manhasset Opportunities to grow into senior and leadership roles over time Employee discounts on Dan’s Pet Care services Pay: Competitive hourly rate starting around [$18.00–$19.50+ per hour] , depending on experience and route mix. ( PLUS $1.25 per visit for gas ) What You Bring You’ll be a great fit if you: Love animals, especially dogs, and are comfortable with both large and small breeds Are able to walk and be on your feet for extended periods in all kinds of weather Are reliable, punctual, and treat this as a real, professional job Live within or very close to our North Shore Nassau County service area Are willing to drive to multiple nearby towns during your shift Have a reliable, insured vehicle that can safely transport dogs when needed Own a smartphone (iPhone or Android) and are comfortable using apps Can pass a background check Are available for a consistent schedule (weekday daytime availability is most in demand; some evening/weekend availability is a plus) Why Dan’s Pet Care Since 2009, Dan’s Pet Care has served thousands of Long Island families with trusted, professional, cage‑free care.
